Follow these basic guidelines and you won’t go wrong!
- Decide on the point of view- who is telling the story, what are they going to tell?
- Don't use words if a picture tells the story.
- Take the viewer to where the action is.
- Make the dialogue realistic (the way people talk)
- Let dialogue and narration move the story along.
- Use action verbs.
- Use realistic details (clothes that fit time, set, character etc.)
- Include description of set, location, props, costume etc. in the script.
- Voiceover (V.O.) sets the scene, describes what has happened or is about to happen, explain how events are related etc.
- Did you pull the viewer in? Did you spark their interest to keep watching?
- Is there a clear ending where problem is resolved?
